Is Christmas really over?
The Christmas season makes us feel warm and happy, but once it is over, those feelings fade. It’s easy to see how my friend feels like she is back to her old routine.
We “feel” Christmas when we spend time preparing for the season by baking cookies, shopping, decorating and spending time family and friends. It’s great to be able to participate in holiday parties and being with loved ones. That’s what makes it feel like Christmas, but feeling Christmas and living Christmas are not the same.
We are reminded in Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts `than your thoughts.
Christmas is now – this very second that you are experiencing. We may celebrate the birth of Jesus every December but God’s ways are not our ways. He has made Jesus available to us all year, not just one day out of the year.
When you go back to your normal routine, remember Christmas and celebrate it.
