At the end of my previous article, I encourage readers to follow The instruction of 1 John 3:18.
Dear Children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth. – 1 John 3:18
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been meditating on this verse. What would it look like in my life? As I pondered this question, God showed me the answer.
First, I received a free beverage from the drive-through of a popular restaurant. Courtesy of the restaurant.
Second, I received another free beverage. This time I was at a different drive-through at a different popular restaurant. The person ordering in front of me, graciously paid for my drink. So, to keep the love going, I paid for the customer behind me.
The third thing God showed me happened while I was dining at a local eatery. A mom was sitting in the booth next to me with her husband, two toddlers, and a newborn. She was rocking at being a mom. She ate her dinner while simultaneously fed her toddlers and holding her newborn.
When they finished eating, their server approached this mom with good news. an anonymous customer paid for their dinner. The young mom cried. It meant so much to her.
What I saw that day was a simple act of love, that had a big impact.
We don’t have to be extravagant when showing others we love them. Sometimes the smallest acts say “I love you” the loudest.
Now get out there and keep showing your love for others. You will find it very rewarding.
